1.3 - Growing to Perfection

Welcome back everybody to a new episode of Operation Pollinate Newcrest! It's been a little while since the last update, longer than I intended but holiday obligations hijacked me for a while. So without further ado, let's just get right to it!

We open today with Seven and J chit-chatting with each other next to his garden. Meanwhile Caelum kneels on the grass near-by doing his homework and apparently admiring his dads' collective awesomeness.

Also, lookit! Little cow horns! You know what that meeeeaaans! Seven successfully fished up a cowplant berry out of the lake nearby!

While continuing with evolving his plants, the little cowplant has entered its infant stage! I am excite.

MAILMAN - I hate lyfe. >:[

Wow. Just wow.

CASSIOPEIA - I hate lyfe!

CAELUM - I dunno, I'm ok with it.

Lawl, these two. Hot-headed Cassie gets cheezed off easily, while little Cael is perpetually chill.

CARDIGAN KID - So, what should we do?

CASSIOPEIA - I'M gonna do my homework. You should probably pray that you don't piss me off bad enough for me to throw it at you in the interim.

CARDIGAN KID - That . . . sounds like a pretty good idea.

And here it is! Fully grown cowplant!

SEVEN - I think I'll call him Comet. :D

COMET - :>

SEVEN - ILU sweetie!

CASSIOPEIA - Thanks daddy!

CAELUM - And I love this bowl of cereal!

Caelum has also begun developing a special friendship with Comet. If I don't direct him to do anything, I'll constantly find him out here playing with the cowplant. And Comet loves the attention.

If you're wondering, J is still working out and working toward promotions at his job in the Athletics career. Though this was to document him face-planting off the treadmill for the very first time.

J - That sucked.

It definitely didn't look fun.

The house got another small make-over. I think we added some nicer appliances in the kitchen and bathrooms and bought a nicer TV.

J also now divides his time between working out and working on his charisma at the mirror. Bodybuilding apparently requires it.

And Seven continues upgrading appliances in the background, lol.

Yay promotion! J's pissy face is because he almost always comes home tense from work. Usually from Working Hard as well as his Noncommital trait protesting a long-term career.

SEVEN - Time for probing!!

J - What the FRACK!?!?!

Pictured - Seven's attempt at humor in order to cheer J up. Spoiler alert, it had the opposite effect. Lols

The next morning it was BIRTHDAY TIMEZ! J is entering full adulthood.

And he looks as good as ever. :)

The week-end found the kids playing on the monkey-bars across the street.

At least until daddy Seven finished baking THEIR birthday cake! That's right! The not-twins are officially becoming teenagers!!

Each of them took their turn blowing out their candles, with daddy Seven cheering them on.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing teen Cassiopeia Pollination! She rolls the Snob trait and I gave her the Big Happy Family aspiration (and the Domestic trait in turn). Which means that, yes, she has officially been chosen as our heiress.

CASSIOPEIA - Was there ever any doubt?

Snob trait much? Lol

Not to be discounted though, my little Caelum is as cute as can be. He rocks that man-bun as well as a Gloomy trait and the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration (plus Business Savvy bonus trait).

And who's this? Why, this would be Caelum's childhood friend Lorelai! While that hat is unfortunate, the rest of her pleases me.

Cael wastes no time putting on the Pollination charm either.

CAELUM - Hurrr, pretty.

LORELAI - OMP Caelum, you are such a dork! . . . it's a good thing I like dork.

Yep, she definitely likes her some dorkage. <3

Cassie had to wait a little while to reconnect with her childhood friend/potential mate. So instead she got to work brushing up on her Programming skills. I have plans of putting her in the Criminal/Oracle branch career in adulthood and it's never too early to start on those skills.

Meanwhile our founder is STILL hard at work on that garden. There are SO many levels of plant quality, omg. Every time I thought that surely the Perfect level was next, NOPE! Something else first lol.

Finally, Cassie managed to trick convince Jefferson to come over.

CASSIOPEIA - Lawl aging up my future boy-toy. #onlysims #legacyheiress4lyfe

Eh. His eyes are a little small but he's not terrible I suppose.

Cassie certainly didn't mind, and got right to work with her flirtations.

Only for Jefferson to reject every single one of them, despite the fact that they had a great friendship (prior to this) and he had no traits to explain his reluctance.

CASSIOPEIA - What the frack, Jeff?!

JEFFERSON - I-I'm sorry, Cass. I just don't think of you in that way.

Then HE tried to flirt with Cassi and she seriously gave him The Hand in response.

JEFF - Cassie?

CASSIOPEIA - Get out of here Jeff, before I feed you to Comet.

So . . . yeah. Back to the drawing board I suppose.

J needs to train other sims for work performance, so Cassie got nominated.

J - That's it sweetie! Feel the burn!

CASSIOPEIA - I don't think I'm supposed to be feeling THIS much burn Daddy!

Meanwhile I floated about the neighborhood looking for ANY child or teen that didn't have black hair and brown eyes . . .

But as you can see . . .

that was just . . .

goddamned impossible. >_<

Meanwhile Caelum is still sneaking out back to play with Comet, of which luvs the attentionz.

CAELUM - No Comet! You don't bite! Bad cowplant!

COMET - D:

Even if he gets the occasional scolds for getting too rambunctious.

Cassiopeia has been keeping up with her work-outs. They help her channel the rage so she doesn't sneak off and smother Jefferson in his sleep.

CAELUM - I luvz me some juice!

Hey! You're too young for juice!

CAELUM - Uh . . . it's orange juice?

Oh, okay then. Carry on.

CASSIOPEIA - I don't get it Cael! I'm the heiress! I'M FRIGGIN GORGEOUS! Why don't I have a boyfriend?!?!

CAELUM - I couldn't tell yah, sis . . . I mean, it's not like you're perpetually angry for no good reason. Oh wait . . .

CASSIOPEIA - . . . I know where you sleep.

Seven's adult birthday snuck up on me! I almost didn't get him a cake baked in time. But luckily we did, and he's still as adorkable as ever.

Caelum has taken over Seven's cooking duties. These sad, sad scrambled eggs were the direct result.

CAELUM - I suck.

J - Now son, don't be so hard on yourself. Like anything else, cooking takes practice to be great at it. And these eggs aren't THAT bad.

CASSIOPEIA - Dad, I thought you said lying was bad.

CAELUM - . . . FML.

J - Cassie . . .

One of J's friends from before he moved in, Zoe Patel, is still a regular visitor.

Unfortunately she spends half her time insulting Seven . . .

. . . and the other half doing shitty things like kicking our trashcan.

I had high hopes that she'd get eaten by Comet, but no such luck.

CAELUM - Seriously?!

Poor Cael's misadventures in the kitchen continue.

The not-twins team up to end the disaster before it could get out of hand, however.

J's work promotions have earned him this nifty new-age weight machine!

And finally . . . FINALLY . . . here we have it. Eight PERFECT plants. The goals of the first generation have officially been realized!

And not a moment too soon, as it's now the not-twins' birthday into young adulthood! Seven baked them a cake, and Caelum invited over his very-special-someone to join in the celebration.

CASSIOPEIA - It's NOT FAIR! I'm the heiress! Where's MY special someone!?

I swear I'm working on it . . . .

CASSIOPEIA - Work faster.

Here we are, guys! Cassie all grown up! Our grumpy heiress rolls her final trait of Genius, doing her daddy Seven proud.

I missed a shot of Caelum at the cake apparently, but he looks exactly the same with a new trait of Foodie

Then Lorelai took her turn at the candles. Caelum and Seven help her celebrate, while Cassie stomps off angrily to go troll some forums in protest.

I had Caelum briefly invite her to join the household so I could give her a make-over. She's an Outgoing, Clumsy Perfectionist with hopes of being a Bestselling Author, which also makes her a Muser.

Inviting her into the household had it's reasons . . . .

Of which Caelum wastes no time.

They got married in the backyard, with the dads, Cassie and Comet as witnesses. It was super cute.

Then after a quick romp, Lorelai does me proud by producing some toilet confetti on her way out. Grandbabies soon!

It was now time for Seven to put the final touches on his part of the mission. He (and I) invite you to visit Seven Pollination Park!

First off we have a lovely set of chess tables around a relaxing fountain.

A large community garden area, guarded by ever-loyal Comet the Cowplant.

Behind that we have the family activity area, complete with camp fire, horseshoes and a children's playground. And of COURSE we have the spaceship jungle gym. Because reasons.

Near the old house we have the picnic tables, grills and some of the flowers that Seven grew for decoration.

The centerpiece of the park is the wedding area, which will be used by all subsequent generations for their ceremonies.

What was once the home of the Pollinations has become the bathrooms and a small sitting area. They've got a bar for refreshments, overseen by a photo of our illustrious founder and some of the fish he's caught mounted on display.

An opposite view of the sitting area.

I was pleased as punch to see the NPC gardener giving Comet his due attentions, glad to know that he won't be neglected.

We now officially move on to Generation 2 : Family Friendly

The overall goal of this generation is to build up the 'affordable starter-home neighborhood' in Newcrest, with no house exceeding 55,000 simoleons in cost, and 2 needing to be at or under 20,000. The heir(ess) must have the Big Happy Family lifetime aspiration. They have a small selection pool of careers, of which I have chosen the Criminal (Oracle) branch. As their children age up, they're to be moved into the various homes built for this starter neighborhood.

The rules say to build the neighborhood in its entirety first, but I'm going to bend them just a little and instead build the houses as I need them. I'm not great at building and it's a little too daunting for me to build them all at once. I'd rather it be spread out a bit.

That said, I've gotten 2 built so far.

First up, this is a quick outdoor view of the first house which has become the home of Caelum and his wife Lorelai for now. I'll visit them sometime in-game to get more in-depth pictures to show you.

And this little beauty is where the main family has moved to. It will probably be the most expensive/largest of the neighborhood as well, as is fitting of the main legacy family I think.

This is a half-walls view from the front. Closest to the camera is Cassie's bedroom, a nursary in the very back. Next door is the family room with the kitchen and dining room behind that separated by half-walls. Behind the aquarium is Seven and J's room with an ensuite bathroom. the very back corner room (in this shot) is an activity room that remains largely undecorated for the time being (the family ran out of funds, lol)

A shot of the house from the opposite side, showing off the back porch and the unfurnished room.

And now, it's time to address Cassie's single-status problem. I finally resorted to populating Willow Creek with some teen households. Cassiopeia managed to find and befriend a few at school before growing up. This one here was my favorite of the bunch.

Meet Graham O'Hara.

CASSIOPEIA - So, Graham. How do you like the new house?

GRAHAM - It's pretty awesome, actually.

CASSIOPEIA - Awesome enough to move into?

GRAHAM - Sure!

So far so good . . .

Cassie?

CASSIOPEIA - I had daddy bake a cake. For reasons.

She's smug. She has no shame. Lol

Graham comes inside to blow out the candles.

SEVEN - Doo dee doo, my work here is done!

<3 Seven

Officially YA, Graham's stats are as follows;

He's a Lazy, Jealous Romantic who ALSO wants a Big Happy Family, making him equally Domestic. I think I'm putting him in the Tech Guru career, though at this point I dunno which branch he'll pursue. But that can wait til later.

Right now we have MUCH more important, flirtatious matters to attend. And being Romantic, Graham was ALL over that.

ALL of it. For real.

They just barely managed to confirm BF/GF before the toilet confetti came raining down.

CASSIOPEIA - BABIES! All of the babies!

To say she's excited would be a vast understatement.

CASSIOPEIA - So Graham, you managed to knock me up on your very first day as a Young Adult, not to mention only living in this house for a mere 2 hours.

GRAHAM - Not a bad start, I'd say.

LOL, no indeed. Not a bad start at all. Join us next time to see the birth of Gen 3, continued Jeven adorableness, and who knows ; maybe we'll manage to sneak in a wedding or two in between all the babies. Until then, happy simming!

    1. Oh yes! Not to worry. I haven't played Sims in a while (too busy with life and other games), but that's the only reason this hasn't been updated in a while. I fully intend to continue with the Pollinations when I do. Thanks so much for reading, and I'm glad you enjoyed! :)
